Join us for a lively discussion of research being pursued at the University of Arizona's Materials Science and Engineering Department. Can advanced manufacturing (3-D printing) be used to build houses on Mars? Is the challenge of hypersonic flight one of speed or materials? Can a new science of sound change the way we see (or hear) the world?  Keith Runger will suggest some possible answers to these and other intriguing questions.
Topic: Materials Research at the University of Arizona: From Atomic Units (au) to Astronomical Units (AU)

Speaker: Keith Runge, Director of Research, Materials Science and Engineering, University of Arizona

When: Thursday, May 9th, 2019

Social Time: 5:30 p.m.

Dinner: 6:00 p.m. (buffet served with several different choices including vegetarian, gluten free & vegan options)

Presentation: 7:00 p.m.

Where: La Quinta Inn & Suites Tucson - Reid Park (102 N Alvernon Way)
