This award is given to help subsidize travel for an undergraduate or graduate student to attend the Rocky Mountain Regional American Chemical Society meeting.
Rules of Eligibility:
Who is Eligible? Any undergraduate or graduate student studying chemistry, biochemistry or a chemistry-related field within the Southern Arizona section region.
Preference* is given to students who meet these criteria:
Applicant is a non-traditional student. Nontraditional can mean (but not limited to)
A returning or older student
A parent
A first-generation college student
A student who has overcome substantial obstacles to be a student
Seeking a degree at public Arizona institution of higher education; community college, college, or university.
Applicant is attending an Arizona school that is within the Southern Arizona local section area
Applicant has not graduated from their program at the time the award is granted.
Applicant is presenting their research
Award Amount: Up to $500
Required Components for the Application The Awards Committee will consider only complete applications.
A complete application shall consist of:
Application Form (online)
Proposal for the request which must include:
Description of the purpose of the travel award
Estimated expenses involved with the travel award
A copy of the abstract and proof of abstract submission and acceptance (email reply)
Letter of Support from Professor endorsing the travel
Required Components of Follow-Up Report
Laura Stratton Rocky Mountain Regional Student Travel Award is awarded in a reimbursement form contingent upon submission of the Follow-Up Report.
